Brian Dickason
Kansas House Of Representatives
District 36
Meet Brian Dickason
I’m proud to be born and raised right here in Wyandotte County! I graduated as Valedictorian from Piper High School, then continued on to Kansas State University, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with honors—triple majoring in Finance, Management Information Systems, and Accounting—and later earned my Master of Accountancy.
Education
- Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS, Master of Accountancy
- Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS, Bachelor of Science in Finance, Management Information Systems, Accounting | with honors
- Piper High School, Kansas City, KS | Valedictorian
Before I ever became a professional, I was already a fighter. I survived two near-death illnesses before I turned 18. Those experiences taught me how precious life is — and how important it is to put our time and talents to good use serving others.
Leadership | Professional Experience
Over the past 20 years, I’ve built my career in auditing, accounting, and technology. I started at Ernst & Young (EY) and went on to work for some of Kansas City’s largest corporations. My focus has always been the same: find what’s broken, fix it, and make things better than I found them. By redesigning processes and holding finances accountable, I’ve helped companies save millions — because when you run an organization efficiently, everyone benefits.
Issues
Why I Want To Be Your Kansas House Representative For District 36
I grew up working class, learned the value of hard work early, paid my own way, and built a career solving complex problems. Those experiences shaped my belief that government should be accountable, responsible, and focused on results. That is the same mindset I want to bring to Topeka. As your next State Representative, I will:
Demand fiscal responsibility
Every dollar the government should be carefully reviewed and clearly justified. Families and small businesses have to live on a budget, and state government should be held to the same standard.
Ensure accountability
Your tax dollars should deliver real value for the people of Wyandotte County. I will work to make sure public funds are used wisely, effectively, and for the benefit of the community.
Champion transparency
You deserve to know where public money goes and why. I will support clear, open explanations of state spending so taxpayers can see how decisions are made.
Protect your pocketbook
I will oppose unnecessary tax and fee increases that make life harder for families, seniors, and small businesses. Kansans deserve a government that respects how hard they work for every dollar. fight against needless tax and fee increases that hurt families and small businesses.
Improve student outcomes
Every student deserves a strong education and a clear path to success after graduation. Whether students choose college, career training, military service, or the workforce, our schools should prepare them with the skills and confidence they need to thrive.

Kansas State Representative, District 36
I’m Dotte Proud—and I want to keep it that way. We’ve all heard the old nicknames and negative headlines that have unfairly defined our community. I reject them. With smarter decisions, fair representation, and responsible leadership, we can prove that Wyandotte County is not the “Crimedotte” or the “armpit” of Kansas—it’s the beating heart of Kansas City’s future.
Together, we can restore pride, strengthen opportunity, and make Wyandotte County a place every Kansan looks to with respect.
Let’s fix what’s broken. Let’s build what’s next. Let’s make Wyandotte proud again!
